What are the documents required to open a Hindu Undivided Family(HUF) account at Zerodha?

We need the following set of documents to open a HUF account. Please note, the HUF account cannot be opened online, and it has to be opened offline.

Supporting Documents List.

HUF PAN copy with a clear HUF seal & signature.
HUF address proof copy with a clear HUF seal & signature. (Only the HUF bank statement or bank passbook copy with the latest transaction page will be accepted as address proof).
Karta PAN card copy self-attested.
Karta address proof copy self-attested.
Coparcener or Member PAN copy self-attested.
Coparcener or Member address proof copy self-attested.
HUF bank account proof for mapping to the trading account, personalized cancelled cheque (HUF name printed on it) or bank statement or bank passbook copy (With full bank account number, MICR and IFSC code).

To activate F&O, currency derivatives, commodity segments, we require anyone of the following list in the name of HUF,

Latest 6 Months Bank statement or passbook copy.
Latest ITR acknowledgement copy.
DP holding statement.
Net-worth certificate.

Page 3- Affix a clear HUF seal & signature(D.Declaration column).*If you are filling the page 3, please fill in the details as per HUF PAN & HUF address(Only the HUF bank statement or bank passbook copy address should be filled in. Please do not fill in Karta individual address proof details in the address part).
Page 4 - Affix the latest passport size photos of Karta & Co-parceners in the desired place & affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the bottom of the page.
Page 6 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F3 signature boxes.
Page 7 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F4 signature box.
Page 8 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F5 signature box.
Page 9 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F6 signature box.
Page11 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F7 signature box.
Page12 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F8 & F9 signature boxes.
Page13 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F10 & F11 signature boxes.
Page16 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F12 signature box.
Page17 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F13(a) & F13 (b) signature boxes.
Page18 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F14 & F15 signature boxes.

POA

1. Page 2 & 3 HUF seal, signature & Co-Parcener or Member signatures on the desired places.

2. If there is only one coparcener or member, then only one coparcener or member signature is required.

3. If there are more than two coparceners or members, they should sign on the empty coparceners signature boxes as mentioned in the above instructions.

4. In case there are more than 3 coparceners or members, the space between the signature boxes can be used as mentioned above.

Note:- Only major Coparceners or Members should sign the POA pages.

Page 5 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F1 signature box.
(Coparceners or Members should not sign in commodity applications).
Page 6 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F2 signature box.
Page 7 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F3 signature box.
Page 8 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F4 & F5 signature box.
Page 9 - Affix a clear HUF seal & signature on the F6 signature box.

Please download the declaration and annexures and follow the instructions mentioned below.

HUF Declaration Letter.

Fill in the Name of HUF.
Names of family Members or Coparceners.
Date of birth
Gender
Relationships with the Karta details need to be filled.
HUF seal & signature is also required.

Annexure

HUF seal & signature is required.
Name and signature of all the major coparceners or members are required.

Once you have filled up the required forms, send an email to [email protected] and kindly share the clear scanned documents in PDF ﬁles as mentioned below, the concerned team will check & complete the review process.

If Kartha is female, you need to provide this additional self-declaration form in hardcopy along with the documents mentioned above.

Once the review is completed and you receive a confirmation from our end, you can send us the Physical account opening forms. After which, you will have to do IPV.

As part of the mandatory In-Person Verification(IPV) requirement for all brokers, a physical or webcam verification is required for non-individual accounts. Either a representative of the client would be required to visit a Zerodha branch office OR a representative of Zerodha would be required to visit the offices or residence of the client to complete the IPV procedure.

The POA is a mandatory document to be provided during the account opening as the CDSL e-DIS TPIN facility is not available for the HUF account yet.
